Frank O’Connor- Owner/ Junior Teams Coach
Grew up playing for the Middlesex Islanders and the St. Moritz Devils. His high school career consisted of four years at Arlington Catholic and then a Post Graduate year at South Kent. Frank played his midget hockey for the Eastern Mass Senators, District 10 Bulldogs, and the Neponset Valley River Rats. He also won a state championship for his Arlington Midget team. He is also the Head coach for the U16 Neponset Valley River Rats of the Tier one Midget Select League. Frank has his level four coaches patch through USA Hockey.Frank is now the Assistant Coach for the Northern Cyclones Jr. A team and the Head Coach of the Jr. B team. Frank will be coaching the Northern Cyclones U16 and U18 full season teams next season along with his junior team responsibilities.
Jon Hutcheon- Owner High End Hockey
Jon graduated from Billerica High School in 2002, where he led the team to a Super 8 berth his senior year. After his high school days he spent two years in the Eastern Junior Hockey League playing for the Valley Jr Warriors. Jon went on to play professionally in the Central Hockey League, Southern Pro Hockey League, Mid Atlantic Hockey League and the All American Hockey League. Jon is currently the Head Coach of the U18 Neponset Valley River Rats. Jon has also worked in the past with Stop It Goaltending in the summers. He currently resides in Tewksbury, MA.
Joe Pereira- ’97 Coach
Joe was a former college hockey player and captain at Boston University. At Boston University, Joe was named to Hockey East Honor Roll five times, named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team. Joe also received Regina Eilberg Scholarship and honoring the Terriers’ top scholar-athlete. Joe then furthered his career in the professional ranks by playing the AHL, ECHL and in Europe. Before Boston University, Joe was the top scorer at South Kent School during the 2006-07 season. Pereira led the Cardinal to its first appearance in the Division I New England prep playoffs, reaching the semifinals. He tallied 100 points in two years at South Kent, scoring 28 goals as a senior and 25 as a junior. Joe received South Kent’s William P. Gillette Award, given to top all-around athlete, and inducted into school’s Hockey Hall of Fame.
Tom O’Connor- Director of Operations ’98 Coach/ ’02 Coach
Grew up playing for the Middlesex Islanders, Boston Jr. Eagles and the N.S. Wings. In his midget hockey career he played for the Greater Boston Junior Bruins. He also won a Tier III State Championship playing for his hometown of Arlington. In high school, Tom played for Arlington Catholic and South Kent School. The 2011 ’98 Nordiques won the Mini Chowder Cup. Tom is currently a junior at St. Michael’s College. Tom is also the Head Coach of the U14 Neponset Valley River Rats.
Steve Needham- ’99 Coach
Grew up playing for the Middlesex Braves, Shamrocks, and District 10 Bulldogs. Steve played his high school hockey at Arlington Catholic and will be played for the Valley Juniors Warriors (Empire). He played his midget hockey for South Boston. He coached his ’99 team to a championship in the 2011 Boston Icemen Icebreaker and the 2012 Mini Chowder Cup. Steve is currently a Senior at Worcester State University. He is also the Head Coach of the U16 Neponset Valley River Rats.
Casey Goll- ’00 Coach
Coach Casey Goll is back for his second summer with the New England Nordiques. Casey will be entering his sophomore season this year where he plays Defense for Southern New Hampshire University. Prior to attending Southern New Hampshire, Casey spent four years at St. Mary’s Lynn in Massachusetts where he was a member of the varsity team for four years and was elected team captain for his senior season, and where he helped lead his team to the Division 1 North Finals. Following his four years at St. Mary’s, Casey did a Post Graduate year at the New Hampton School where he was a three sport varsity athlete and helped the Varsity Ice Hockey team to the most wins in school history (25) as well as a trip to the New England Prep School Final. He was also awarded the Golden-Tilton Post Graduate Award for leadership, determination, and hard work on and off the playing fields. Casey also serves as an assistant coach with the Neponset Valley River Rats U16 team in the fall.
Nick Ricco- ’01 Coach
Grew up playing for the Valley Jr. Warriors and Top Gun. Played his midget hockey for the District 10 Bulldogs. Nick played his high school hockey at St. John’s Prep where he was a captain his senior year, and then a Post-Graduate year at the South Kent School. Riccio coached the ’01s to a championship in the 2012 Hub Cup. Currently a Junior at Southern New Hampshire University, Riccio is an Assistant Coach for the U14 Neponset Valley River Rats.
Darryl Locke- ’03 Coach
Presently Coaching Ramapo Saints New York Squirt AAA Team. 2011 Squirt Spring Team Champions. Coached Ramapo Saints Mite and Mini-Mite Teams 2009-2011. Played youth hockey in Charlestown, Ma. Mite-Midget. Played high school hockey Christopher Columbus High School (1981-83). Two time Catholic Central League All-Star. Boston Globe All-Scholastic and Three time Hockey Night in Boston All-Star Selection. Three time Europa Cup All-Star Selection. Played prep school hockey for legendary Coach George Kozak at New Prep (1983-85) 1984 All N.E. Prep All-Star and co-captain. Played college hockey for Plattsburgh State and junior hockey for The South Shore Braves Jr.A. Attended pro camps for the Peoria Rivermen (IHL) and Virginia Lancers (ACHL). Presently hold Level 2 USA Hockey Coaching Certification.
Jamie Walker- ’04 Coach
Coach Walker grew up in Arlington, Ma. He played his High School hockey for Arlington High School and graduated in 1992. During his time at Arlington High School, his team captured GBL titles in ’91 and ’92. During those years they made back to back Super 8 births. After High school, he played four years at Curry College, where he was two year Captain his Junior and Senior year. Jamie graduated from Curry in 1996. He currently coaches for the Islanders Hockey Club ’04 Elite Team. He lives in Chelmsford, Ma.
